‘Land of the Five Rivers’ is the homeland for India’s Sikh population. It is well known for its fertile land and vibrant people. The Golden temple in Amritsar is the main attention grabber of the tourists. Apart from that you can also visit towns like Patiala, Bathinda and Faridkot contain seemingly lost-in-time marketplaces and crumbling forts that hint at faded dignity, while welcoming gurdwaras (Sikh temples) are to be found across the state. Wagah border,Jallianwala Bagh,Rock Garden,Maharaja Ranjit Singh War museum are some of the places to explore.

The main airports of Punjab are located in Amritsar and Ludhiana. The regular flights to Delhi can be taken from here. Union Territory of Chandigarh that serves as the capital of both Haryana and Punjab also has domestic terminal.

Trains can be taken between Amritsar and Delhi or Chandigarh and Delhi. The rest of the nation is connected through Delhi.

Highways in Punjab are very well developed and you would love the ‘Dhabas’ that serve local food on such highways. Road transport is well developed and probably the best way to move around in Punjab.
